GM At 36th Barrett-Jackson Auction

by Joe Thompson

Very much popular in the United States, in North America, and the rest of the world, General Motors (or much commonly known as GM) has just recently announced that it is going to take part in one of the hugest auctions in the automotive industry. GM is going to support some of the activities and events at the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event. This one would be happening in Scottsdale in Arizona starting on the 13th and would be ending on the 21st this month.

GM would be working as a major sponsor in this grand event. And it sure is going to be a grand thing for the company in return. With the tons of people who are going to attend the event and who would be part of the event, it would mean free advertisement for the company. After all, the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event would be featuring the finest vehicles in the world of collector automobiles and the organizers of the event estimate that there would be more than 1,200 of these at the event that would be surely having shiny engine parts and exterior car parts in the good condition. Plus, the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event also magnets visitors not less than 225,000 and the whole event would be given live coverage.

Craig Johnson is the chief head at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company and on GM's major sponsorship, he asserts, "For nearly a century, GM has led the charge in automotive innovation, design and safety, which is evident due to their unmatched reach in today's competitive marketplace. The impact of an industry power like GM will be evident in every aspect of this event, from the auction to the Lifestyle Pavilion. We've united the world's largest automaker and the world's premier collector car event for an automotive celebration to remember."

As part of the GM display, vehicles would include those from the company's brands like Cadillac and Chevrolet. There would also be a section just meant for the OnStar system and yet another section for memorabilia from the company. "GM is proud to be a sponsor of Barrett-Jackson," proclaims Tom Conwell. Conwell is the director of GM's auto shows and operations team and he continues, "They have a rich history of selling some of the most popular muscle cars as well as vehicles with industry-leading design. Barrett-Jackson's reputation of selling the very best vehicles of our past makes it a perfect environment for GM to be represented."
