This Gretsch 55 Roc Jet is a Custom Shop Master Built recreation of a very rare, original Roc Jet, (precursor to the famous Duo Jet) built only for a short time in 1954-55, that ultimately ended up in Randy Bachmann's epic Gretsch Collection. This Masterbuilt instrument was created from the ground up by Stephen Stern, and is one of only 3 like it in the world. The Gretsch 55 Roc Jet features a one-piece chambered mahogany body, 3-ply arched maple top, and a gently distressed black nitrocellulose finish. The headstock is slightly larger than later Gretsch models, with an ultra-rare Gretsch logo. Seymour Duncan Dynasonic single coil pickups deliver all the punch and chime you'd expect from a Gretsch 55 Roc Jet, and the beautifully aged, vintage-correct hardware (including original Melita-style bridge) brings it all together. This Gretsch Custom Shop Masterbuilt guitar weighs in at a feathery and comfortable 8lbs, 4oz and includes a tweed hard shell case.
